Founded in 2019, jMUSE is a venture in arts and culture philanthropy that brings together institutions, experts, and philanthropists to experiment with new ways to present important ideas and innovative content across the United States and Europe. jMUSE also provides project management, grant making strategy, and advice to help foundations, families and individuals focus, shape and grow their philanthropic giving and charitable endeavors.
jMUSE has launched a series of high profile initiatives, including The Jewish Museums Project; developed Activating Archives, Libraries, and Museums in the Fight Against Antisemitism; produced Jewish American Heritage Month; and is currently helping Anne Frank House in Amsterdam bring Anne Frank The Exhibition to American audiences.
jMUSE is led by Michael S. Glickman, a social entrepreneur, philanthropic advisor and prolific fundraiser who has helped to secure hundreds of millions of dollars in philanthropy for arts and culture, and educational causes over the past two decades. Glickman is an advisor to a number of charitable entities, nonprofit organizations, and executives around the world. Prior to founding jMUSE, Glickman served as President & CEO of New York's Holocaust Museum (Museum of Jewish Heritage), led the Center for Jewish History, and served as vice president at Long Island University. He is a doctoral student at Indiana University, received his MPA from Columbia University, and his Master’s and Bachelor’s from Long Island University. Glickman is chair of the Board of Directors of Gold Coast Arts.
